I had the opportunity to work with Secure Data Recovery Services after attempting to connect the family computer hard drive to an external power source. The controller board burned up a resistor, and the drive would not spin. After the panic subsided into pure disbelief, I discovered the services offered by Secure Data. The next morning I called and spoke to Eric Fisher. Eric took the time and explained the options and ask question about the events that allowed us to meet. We discussed the price and how they go about trying to get the data. He did not make any promises about retrieving any data, but offered a chance to try. Their track record for recovery is pretty impressive. He sent me a fedex label and I sent the drive. The team at Secure Data was able to retrieve my data. The external drive holding the data was shipped. I plugged it into my USB port and copied my files. To me, it was money well spent. I suppose my situation was on the easier side since my controller board was the issue, but bottom line, I got my data back. Eric kept me informed all along the way and I was able to see the progress via their site. He was a great resource in this process and because of him, I made the decision to use their services. If you are on the fence about trying them, don't hesitate. You have nothing to loose, it's already gone. What you have to loose, you might be able to get back.

The technical service is good. We received most of the files recovered and functional, only a few were damaged (but that's because our drive was damaged, had nothing to do with the company). My complaint is cost and lack of notice. It was very expensive, and they get you to send in the drive without any idea of cost, once looked at they come back with a four figure fee. I just think it should cost less, or at least a range of pricing should be provided/dosclosed up front. Feels kinda scammy when they have your drive and demand a high fee. So, in sum, the technical service is great, they are good at what they do, but the pricing is ridiculously high IMO.

I am very happy with the results of using Secure Data. The process was very simple and quick. The communication was top notch from the start to the finish. I was kept in contact through the process the whole way. The recovery was an outstanding success and I am very pleased with the results. I highly recommend them for your needs.

I worked with Scott McMacken to recover a database system for a client of mine. Secure Data and Scott recovered the data in a timely manner which saved my client a lot of time and money. They gave me access to critical data online so I could get the system up and running quickly since a snow storm delayed physical recovery drive in transit. My thumb drive with my personal and work life simply stopped. No connection at all to any USB port. Elliot Fisher (my rep) worked diligently with me to not only get all my data recovered, but did it from a Tuesday afternoon to a Friday morning - incredible turn-around time. He stayed in touch me with the entire time. My data is recovered and I started breathing again. I cannot thank Elliot - and the Secure Data Recovery team - enough!
