Our process

When it comes to keeping those vital files safe, there are a variety of factors beyond your control. When it comes to data loss, there are dedicated SalvageData technicians that apply cutting-edge recovery technology and advanced certified equipment to retrieve missing data even in the most hopeless cases.

Our process

Evaluation

Troubleshooting doesn't take long when you have a good eye. Once we thoroughly examine your device for faults and failures, we can estimate the amount of data to be recovered, as well as the approximate cost of the repairs.

Recovery

Decades of data recovery experience help us to pinpoint the root of a problem quickly and clearly. With a 96% success rate in resolving data loss cases, we provide services to both individual users and government organizations and businesses worldwide, which makes us one of the most trusted names in the industry.

Review Results

We want the entire restoration process to be as transparent and open as possible. When the work is completed, you will receive a list of recovered files so that you know exactly what you are paying for.

Payment

As soon as the amount of recovered data is specified, you’ll get the exact cost of recovery. Though we strive to keep the prices as low as possible, the final price will depend on the degree of damage to your device and, consequently, the complexity of the restoration work.

Receive data

Depending on the condition of your device, we can return the drive with all the retrieved information back to you via secure shipping, by loading the files on a new device, or simply sending it to you digitally.

What to do when your memory card fails

Reasons for failures on the memory card, and how to deal with them

step 01

Aside from improper insertion/ejection, interrupted formatting of the SD card, accumulation of bad sectors and manufacturing defects, physical damage and corruption of its file system remain the main reasons why a memory card can fail. So first inspect the SD card for damage.

step 02

If no damage was found externally, it is most likely that the problem is logical. While most logical problems can be solved by simply formatting the memory card, this method involves deleting all data, and therefore won’t work for everyone.

step 03

To effectively diagnose a memory card for logical and other problems, as well as, if necessary, safely transfer data from it without the risk of deleting them, it is best to contact a professional data recovery company. For over a decade, SalvageData has been providing professional file recovery from damaged memory cards with a 96% success rate and hundreds of positive reviews.

Typically a hard drive failure. Your system could be struggling for a variety of reasons, but it is likely due to a mechanical or logical error in your hard drive.

This issue could be an electrical issue due to a power surge or faulty power supply. Depending on how urgent files are needed, searching for backup file information is your best temporary fix while your device is being worked on. If files are not backed up, that does not mean the information is gone for good.

Irregular noises such as these coming from your hard drive are not a good sign. You should turn off your device in a logical manner to prevent any further damage, then contact us.

Error messages are often an indication there is a logical error with your hard drive. On occasion, this can be fixed using data recovery software.

This could be due to a problem with the BIOS settings, a physical hard drive issue, or a connection failure. If the drive is removed and inserted into a different computer but is unable to work properly, you should contact a data recovery professional immediately.

When a hard drive physically stops working, that is the crash. When this happens, a drive can fail to boot, respond slowly, or not power on at all. A computer not turning on is a sign that the hard drive could have crashed.
