Pura Vida saved my life, I owe everything I have to them. From the amazing staff at detox, to the seamless transition to residential rehab where I learned so much about coping skills. While in rehab I was able to tour some of the sober living environments, where I currently live. I feel supported and my needs are met. I’ve done the day treatment at pura Vida and it was the perfect transition to resume normal life. I’m about to start afternoon treatment and I couldn’t be more excited. The pura Vida system doesn’t feel like a rehab facility it feels like a family with the immense amounts of support woven into the program. From the alumni meetings to the overall positive atmosphere.

In like 2018 early 2019 I began my journey in Pura Vida. I stayed in their sober living and attended their IOP classes. Before coming into the sober living, I had no accountability and didn’t know how to function as a productive member of society. I planned to stay in the sober living for a maximum of 90 days, but it was so beneficial that I ended up staying for three years. I went from being a problem client to be becoming a sober living house manager. I learned integrity, honesty, accountability, and how to give respect so that I could receive it and return. Living in Pura Vida, those three years was Probably the best time of my life. I had an absolute blast and was, for the first time in my life, able to maintain recovery. Their IOP program was absolutely amazing as well. Shout out to my counselor! She met me where I was at, and didn’t make me feel like I needed to conform anything that I wasn’t comfortable with. Today I am Over 6 1/2 years clean and sober and I’m on a career path that I am proud to speak of. Thank you, Pura Vida for helping me find myself again. Not only am I proud of where I’m at, but my parents can say that they are proud of their daughter again, and that is priceless

Pura Vida is a great place for substance abuse treatment. If you or your family are looking for help give them a call. They will walk you through the process with compassion and kindness. I had a family member go through their program and it saved his life. I would highly recommend them.

The community is compelled to issue this extensive statement detailing the severe, anticipated operational and managerial failures of the proposed "Pura Vida" Recovery Center at this specific residential location, with the explicit directive that the facility must immediately seek a more appropriate site; the core promise conveyed by their marketing—suggesting serenity, premium quality, and high standards of care—is fundamentally contradicted by the inevitable negative realities of its placement within a dense, family-centric residential area in immediate and unavoidable proximity to a major youth educational institution, creating an unviable situation where the operational risks are simply too high for the surrounding community to bear, as the single greatest anticipated failure lies in the center's documented inability to guarantee constant, high-level public safety, given the high-volume pedestrian and youth traffic that defines this neighborhood, and this failure is rooted in the predictable instability of the facility’s staffing, where high turnover among clinical and security personnel—a common indicator of inadequate operational support—makes consistent security protocol enforcement impossible, directly compromising the community’s safety by increasing the risk of unsupervised or unauthorized client movement onto residential sidewalks during school commute hours, because there has been no credible, verifiable operational plan presented to enforce a zero-tolerance policy against client loitering or congregation on the immediate residential perimeter, which is a public safety hazard that will persist due to the lack of a contractually-obligated, and immediately accessible 24-hour on-site security manager for neighborhood issues, signaling a systemic failure to grasp the urgency of co-existing next to a high-density youth zone, and furthermore, the operational demands of the facility will catastrophically overwhelm the existing residential infrastructure, demonstrating a profound neglect for the established quality of life, as the current street parking is critically saturated, and the addition of vehicles, including staff, regular visitors, corporate transport, and multiple daily service deliveries, without 100% dedicated, off-street mitigation, is an operational impossibility that guarantees continuous congestion during peak traffic hours, severely jeopardizing pedestrian safety and making the area unnavigable, while the anticipated operational focus on maximizing client capacity, rather than excellence, will inevitably lead to the physical premises falling into disrepair, with visible wear, poor landscaping, and inadequate waste management, creating an institutional appearance that directly violates the aesthetic and property value expectations of a residential zone, and this lack of operational control extends to noise management, with failures anticipated in managing sound from deliveries, outdoor group activities, and client movement that will violate local noise ordinances and fundamentally disrupt the peaceful atmosphere that defines our residential setting, leading to the conclusion that the "Pura Vida" model, as situated here, is doomed to fail its core promise of quality care while simultaneously undermining the safety and stability of the surrounding homes, rendering the facility entirely incompatible with this densely populated, child-centric residential environment, and therefore, for the long-term success of the facility’s mission, and for the necessary preservation of our community’s well-being and safety, this facility must be relocated, as the necessary operational support, greater infrastructure capacity, and lower community impact requirements are clearly and urgently better suited to a commercial, campus-style, or less sensitive site elsewhere.

As someone who went through both the detox and part of the program (I asked to be transferred after a week) I am giving a completely honest review. First off, the detox center including the staff, are AMAZING! I thoroughly enjoyed my time there and they really go above and beyond to ensure your comfort. When I arrived to the program, I was stunned to find out that we only get our phones for 1.5 hours 2x a day. As someone who recently went through a lot of trauma, my voice was completely unheard and my needs unmet. Thus, leading me to ask for a transfer to a different program. It felt like they wanted to just keep people in beds and they definitely played favorites. I was punished for things I didn’t do and they put a violent criminal in my room and after she threatened to fight me, they refused to do anything about it. I expressed my concerns for safety and was met with extreme opposition which didn’t make any sense to me. As someone who’s gone through many programs, violence or the threat of violence is usually enough to get booted immediately. But they wouldn’t do anything about it. So I left and am way happier at the current program I’m in. They won’t let you access your stuff and take forever to search your belongings. They are short staffed and its clear there’s extremely poor communication between staff. The regional director of the program is very rude and as someone with many mental health diagnoses, he clearly doesn’t understand how to treat people who suffer with mental health, which as a dual diagnosis treatment center, they should know all about and treat people with more sensitivity. They serve reheated Costco food for meals. They mandate that you attend all groups which include some outside meetings and some fun outings. But if you’re looking for a program where you stay onsite 24/7, this is not it. If you want a program where you can access ur phone or technology all day, this is not it. There is a lot of downtime where they won’t let you have your phone so you’re kind of left to your own devices. I also had an item stolen that they didn’t do anything about AND they said they’d send the rest of my stuff to my new treatment center after I left and they had no intention of doing so because when we called, they acted like they never said that. Super poor communication.
