My external drive failed unexpectantly. I tried Secure Data Recovery (based on reviews) and was pleasantly surprised how easy it was to recover my data. Scott McMacken assisted me from the beginning to the end of the process. The drop off was local but I wasn't sure about mailing my drive out of state. Scott explained that this was to provide the best controlled environment for opening the drive in their Class 10 ISO 4 cleanroom. The shipping went smoothly in both directions, with notifications and the return drive was passcode protected. The price was high and Scott managed to negotiate a small discount because I was not in a hurry. The technicians successfully recovered all of my data. I had some difficulty opening the new drive with the passcode (it is handled with a phone app, and the app had recently changed). Scott passed me on to Blake, one of the security technicians and he succeeded in having me access the drive within minutes. I was very satisfied with the quality of service that I received from Scott, Blake and the team at Secure Data Recovery and would recommend them to anyone in need of this service.

We had archived off a shelved project and the drive was used to archive off entire project. Securely stored the 5 GB of project data as a complete backup. 6 years later, When we revived the project and went to restore files the archive drive was dropped and would no longer respond. Panic time! All we had was partial backups. A call to Secure Data Recovery assured us the files could at least partially recovered. And no recovery means no charge. They managed to recover all the files and get the original drive running again. Project saved and now I have a second backup like I should have done the first time.

I accidentally used my external hard drive to do my MacOs update which reformatted the hard drive and wiped out all of my data. Secure Data Recovery was able to locate all of our lost files and restore them. Secure Data also worked with us on pricing and was extremely communicative throughout the process. I have an advanced suite of software disk recovery tools. But they couldn't help when a relative's external drive with important Mac backup data just wouldn't register as being present when plugged into any USB port. The drive was just dead. I reached out to Secure Data explained the problem. The communication about what they could do and the process for how to move forward was clear and concise. Before proceeding with any recovery, there is a free diagnosis, and you can then decide if you want to invest in the full restoration process. Secure Data was able to recover 99% of our drive's data with their hardware recovery techniques. The recovered files were returned on a USB drive with their original directory structure in-tact. I would definitely recommend contacting Secure Data for those tough, hard scenarios where software tools alone cannot get the job done.
