MEDIA PACKAGING & SHIPPING

GUIDELINES

It is extremely important your hard drive and media is removed from the computer and properly packaged before shipping to avoid additional damages. We normally only required the storage media alone for data recovery, however we advise that you keep and retain all attached brackets, enclosures, and misc items unless otherwise instructed. If we are required to remove hard drive from your laptop or computer, additional charges may apply.

1. Remove hard drive from the computer

Remove and retain all brackets, enclosures and misc hardware, unless otherwise instructed.

2. Protect and insulate the drive

Use anti-static bag, foam, bubble wrap, or use newspaper to assure that drive has at least 1-2 inches of insulation on all sides.

3. Secure inside sturdy corrugated box

Protect and insulate by positioning drive in the center of sturdy corrugated box to assure it is protected by at least 2″ of protection on all sides.

4. Package label and seal for shipping

Write clearly your SalvageData case reference ID number on both sides of your packaging using bold print.

5. Contact transporting courier

Contact FedEx, UPS, USPS or your preferred courier for shipping arrangements.

Identify and labels all member drives belonging to the RAID array.

2. Remove all RAID member drives

Remove and retain all brackets, cables, and misc. hardware from system / JBOD enclosure.

3. Protect and insulate all member drives

Protect and insulate each drive inside anti-static bag, with foam, bubble wrap, or use newspapers.

4. Secure inside sturdy corrugated box

Protect and insulate all drives positioning drive with 1 – 2 inches of insulation from all sides.

5. Package label and seal for shipping

Write clearly your SalvageData case reference ID number on both sides of your packaging using bold print.

6. Contact transporting courier

Contact FedEx, UPS, USPS or your preferred courier for shipping arrangements.
