ES-8200 SAS/SAS (and SATA) RAID

ES-8200S RAID systems are used as direct attached storage, over a SAS (Serial Attached SCSI) connection. In the server the RAID partitions can be seen like normal SCSI disks - of course with much higher capacity. The advantage: SAS and SATA disks can be mixed within the same RAID box, in order to offer highperformance disk capacity for database applications together with low cost SATA capacity e.g. for data archiving. The sytem can be expanded over a SAS port to a maximum of 64 disks.
